Pentagon: Fearing an Israeli-Hezbollah outbreak, the US is sending more troops to the Middle East.



(Xinhua) - Washington The Pentagon announced on Monday that the US is deploying a limited force to the Middle East in response to the escalating hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, which is based in Lebanon. This is in line with a Reuters press release.


Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder told reporters, "We are sending a small number of additional troops to increase the number of our troops already stationed in the region as a precaution to avoid any risk." Ryder did not indicate the number of US troops to be sent to the Middle East or the purpose of the mission.
