Joe Biden is thinking about the proposal from Ukraine to attack Russian territory with US weapons.

(Xinhua) WASHINGTON On Tuesday, US President Joe Biden stated he was thinking about Ukraine's request to use US-supplied weaponry to encroach on Russian territory. This corresponds with a press release from Reuters.

While administration officials continue to disagree over whether to allow Ukraine to use US-supplied weapons to further encroach into Russian territory, Joe Biden made these remarks. The US State Department appears to be more accommodating to requests from Kiev in light of reports that Iran has sent ballistic missiles to Russia.

When questioned by reporters about his willingness to let Ukraine use US-supplied weaponry—such as the long-range ATACMS missiles—to hit targets inside Russia. "We are thinking about it right now," Biden answered.

Vladimir Putin, the president of Ukraine, has urged the US and its European allies on several occasions to permit long-range missiles to pierce deeply into Russian territory. However, the US and a few other European nations are still apprehensive because they worry that Russia may respond in a way that sparks a direct conflict between Russia and NATO. Putin has also issued a warning, saying that permitting Ukraine to attack Russian territory with weaponry supplied by NATO—such as the US ATACMS missile—will escalate the conflict and necessitate forceful Russian intervention.
