DAMASCUS,- According to the Syrian defense ministry, Israel has conducted airstrikes on outposts in the Homs region of Syria, inflicting at least five casualties on the military.
The early Sunday raids were the third in a short period of time and were carried out just one day after another attack on Friday that resulted in the death of an Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps officer.
According to a statement from official media, Israel began "an aerial offensive from the direction of northwest Beirut targeting various outposts in Homs city and adjacent environs around 00:35 am" (21:35 GMT).
