Canada promises further military assistance to Ukraine and penalties against Russia.

Reuters, April - After meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in Toronto on Tuesday (April 11), Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced more sanctions against Russia for its invasion of Ukraine and renewed military assistance for Kiev.

According to Trudeau, Canada would penalize 14 Russian persons and 34 businesses, including security targets connected to Wagner Group, and supply 21,000 assault weapons, 38 machine guns, and 2.4 million rounds of ammunition to Ukraine.

He declared, "We will continue to provide Ukraine with all essential help for until long is required.

Since January 2022, shortly before the invasion at the end of February, Canada has given Ukraine financial, military, humanitarian, and other aid totaling more over C$8 billion.

To exert even more pressure on Russia's "enablers in Belarus," Canada is also placing sanctions on nine firms connected to the country's banking industry, according to Trudeau.
