According to TASS, Russia would create a unique branch of Poseidon torpedo carriers.

Reuters, MOSCOW, April 3 - By the end of 2024 or the first half of 2025, Russia intends to create a division of specialized submarines that will be a part of its Pacific Fleet and carry Poseidon nuclear-capable torpedoes, according to a report from the Russian TASS news agency.

Four years after President Vladimir Putin unveiled the fundamentally novel form of strategic nuclear weapon, Russia stated in January that it had created the first batch of Poseidon torpedoes and confirmed it will have its own nuclear power source.

In the Kamchatka Peninsula, where Russia's Pacific Fleet's ballistic nuclear missile is located, the coastal infrastructure for the submarines that would deliver the Poseidon torpedoes will be built, according to Russian statements made in late March It is a submarine base.

According to an unnamed defense source quoted by TASS, "the decision to build a division of special-purpose nuclear submarines in Kamchatka has been decided." We're referring about the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025.

Little verifiable specifics regarding the Poseidon are known to the general public, but military analysts claim that it is effectively a torpedo and drone hybrid that can be fired from a nuclear submarine.
