Mexico's president urges U.S. Invest extra in Central America to lower immigration



MEXICO CITY, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- Mexico's President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador on Thursday advised the United States government to invest more in development plans in Central America to slash immigration.


"We are looking for investment so there's development, so there are jobs and well-being in Central American nations, so the humans aren't compelled to to migrate," the president said during his standard morning press conference.


"A social hassle cannot be solved simplest with coercive measures," stated Lopez Obrador, referring to a U.S. Supreme Court decision that guidelines the present day administration in Washington need to reinstate a debatable immigration policy installed vicinity in 2019 by former president Donald Trump.


Widely referred to as the "Remain in Mexico" coverage, it bars access to asylum seekers, forcing them to stay in Mexico until the date of their listening to at a U.S. Immigration courtroom.
