Helicopter with sixteen humans on board crashes in Russia's Far East

 


MOSCOW, Aug 12 (Reuters) - A Mi-8 helicopter with sixteen people on board crashed in Russia's Far East area of Kamchatka early on Thursday, the emergency carrier said, and information companies reported nine have been determined alive and seven had been lacking.


The helicopter operated by way of Vityaz-Aero enterprise with thirteen passengers and 3 crew hard-landed close to a lake at the south of Kamchatka peninsula, the neighborhood emergency provider said.


The helicopter turned into sporting tourists from Moscow and St Petersburg, nation news organization RIA reported, bringing up a supply on the emergency provider. RIA said the helicopter fell into the lake.


Nine humans were determined alive on the scene, Interfax news corporation stated, bringing up a supply with Kamchatka's fitness ministry. TASS news corporation stated seven passengers and two group contributors survived the crash, citing an emergency service representative.


Kamchatka peninsula is popular among vacationers for its nature. It is more than 6,000 km (three,728 miles) east of Moscow and approximately 2,000 km west of Alaska.


Russian aviation safety requirements have stepped forward in recent years however accidents, mainly regarding getting older planes and helicopters, are not uncommon.


In July, all 28 humans on board of Antonov An-26 twin-engined turboprop died in a crash in Kamchatka.
