Russia holds huge-scale drills in principal Pacific

MOSCOW, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Russia's Pacific Fleet introduced on Thursday that it has all started big-scale exercises in the critical part of the Pacific Ocean.

As many as 20 floor warships, submarines and aid vessels are involved within the sporting activities, which includes the fleet's flagship the Varyag missile cruiser, the Marshal Shaposhnikov frigate and the Admiral Panteleev huge anti-submarine ship.

Around 20 plane are also participating within the drills, consisting of the Tu-142M3 long-variety anti-submarine struggle planes and the MiG-31BM high-altitude interceptor-combatants.

The heterogeneous organization of forces will practice locating and tracking enemy submarines in far sea zones and coordinating at long distance from their domestic bases.
