U.S. Approves capacity sale of $three.4 bln helicopters to Israel



WASHINGTON, July 30 (Reuters) - The U.S. State Department said on Friday it has permitted the capability sale of 18 CH-53K heavy lift helicopters to Israel in a deal worth up to $3.Four billion.


The package deal could consist of engines, navigation structures, weaponry, guide equipment, spares and technical aid. Lockheed Martin Corp (LMT.N)and General Electric Co (GE.N)are the high contractors on the deal.


The State Department said in a statement "the United States is committed to the security of Israel, and it's far essential to U.S. Country wide hobbies to assist Israel to broaden and hold a sturdy and ready self-defense capability."


Despite the approval by using the State Department, the notification does no longer suggest that a contract has been signed or that negotiations have concluded.
